Kakadu plum has a high concentration of vitamin C in its fruit: recorded concentrations of 2300-3150\u00a0mg\/100\u00a0g wet weight and occasionally as high as 5300\u00a0mg\/100\u00a0g, compared with 50\u00a0mg\/100\u00a0g for oranges, ranks among the highest known of any natural source. Vitamin C is the most essential antioxidant that slows down the aging process. It helps to form proline, an amino acid that makes collagen.\n<p>Kakadu plum gives the skin a natural shine and glow. It protects skin cells &amp; skin\u2019s support structure from free radicals and other UV-related damage, increases the synthesis of collagen, reduces wrinkles and fades hyper-pigmentation and age spots.<\/p>\n<p>Kakadu plum has phytochemicals like gallic and ellagic acids. Gallic acid is known for its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-in\ufb02ammatory, and anti-tumor properties. Gallic acid is an excellent wound healer and may have a use in the treatment of psorasis. Ellagic acid shows anti-carcinogenic effects to maintain healthy human tissues.
