Glycerin, also called glycerol or glycerine, is a colorless, odorless, sweet-tasting, viscous liquid that is widely used in skin care products and food industry. The glycerin ingredient used in our product is derived from organic soybeans. The three hydroxyl groups on Glycerin are responsible for its solubility in water and its hygroscopic nature. The glycerin backbone, know as triglycerides, is central to all lipids.
Glycerin soap is commonly used by people with sensitive, easily irritated skin because it prevents skin dryness with its moisturizing properties. It draws moisture up through skin layers and prevents excessive evaporation. Glycerin gives the skin a soft and supple feel, and helps curing oily skin problems like acne, pimples and blackheads.
Glycerin possesses high extractive power and is often used in preparing herbal extractions. It is a stable preserving agent for botanical extracts that, when utilized in proper concentrations, does not allow inverting or reduction-oxidation of a finished extract’s components, even over a few years.
